The Qualities of an Expert Soap Maker

Whenever I visit a craft show, I always admire those who make soap. It’s wonderful to see people who take something so ordinary and turn it into something new and interesting. I’ve often pondered on what it takes to become expert soap makers. The first quality is imagination. The soaps I love the best are the most eye catching: soaps shaped like toys and soaps that smell and look like pumpkin pie. They raise the artistry in the craft of making soap. Second is the willingness to experiment. I love how the best soap makers mix different things to create new scents or new colors. Lastly is the knowledge of the basics. You can’t be imaginative or be experimental without a firm base. You’ve got to place your feet firmly on earth to reach the sky.
