Heart Tattoo Patterns
Interestingly, the heart tattoo was first inscribed by soldiers with “I love Mom” kind of tattoo patterns. These were reminders to the home-sick sailor or soldier of the reason they were fighting for, and a poignant cue of the life left behind. Such Tattoo Patterns were pledges of their love for their families and sweethearts. Another popular tattoo pattern is the Memorial Tattoo. This tattoo commemorates a lost love, a family member, a child, or a friend. Among the armed forces and policemen and fire fighters, the memorial tattoo was in fond remembrance of a fallen comrade. These tattoos are a method of expression for people to grieve the loved one’s loss, and honor their memory as they continue with their own lives.
